Chile\u2019s territory includes approximately 4,000 kilometers of coastline and 110,000 km2<\/sup> of ocean. In the Los R\u00edos (X) and Ays\u00e9n (XI) regions, its coastline is protected by fjords, estuaries and archipelagos that create the conditions that the country needs to be a leader in fishing and aquaculture.<\/p>\n

Camanchaca is a major player in the Chilean mussel farming industry thanks to its extensive concessions off the coasts of Chilo\u00e9 and its constant pursuit of efficiency throughout the production chain, which enables it to sustainably produce the Chilean mussel. This essentially organic product is very environmentally safe, rich in nutrients and low cost. It also generates employment and development in isolated areas.<\/p>\n

The Company also has abalone farming operations in the Atacama (III) Region. Its more than 1,000 land-based, open-flow tanks make it Chile\u2019s leading producer of abalone, which are highly valued on Asian markets for their delicate texture and taste.<\/p>\n

Mussels<\/h4>\n
The Chilean mussel (mitylus chilensis) is a bivalve, filter feeding mollusk species from the mytilidae family. It is found in the Pacific Ocean between Callao and the Beagle Channel and in the Atlantic Ocean between southern Brazil and the area around the Beagle Channel. These mussels grow naturally in the waters of the South Pacific and are industrially processed. They are an ideal addition to diets to control weight and high blood pressure.<\/div><\/div>\n <\/div>\n[\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″]\n

Abalone<\/h4>\n
Abalone (haliotis rufescens), also known as sea ears, is a shy sea snail introduced in Chile in the 1980s. Our abalone feed on fresh algae from the pristine waters of northern Chile\u2019s protected bays.
