What is this about?

Camanchaca has an ongoing beach cleanup program in the areas where it operates, in collaboration with students and communities, to encourage carefor the environment, oceans and beaches.
In addition, for the last three years in a row, all company divisions have come together on September 26 to take part in International Coastal Cleanup Day. This global initiative is spearheaded by Ocean Conservancy, an NGO that promotes international efforts to clean up coastlines and bodies of water.

Who participated?

Camanchaca participated together with the regional offices of DIRECTEMAR (the Chilean Navy’s Bureau of Maritime Territory and Merchant Marines), as well as government entities and educational establishments. This initiative is part of the Caring for the Environment pillar of the “Friendly Camanchaca Program”, which seeks to deepen and strengthen the company’s relationships with its associates and neighboring communities.

What did the initiative achieve?

More than 540 volunteers picked up over 13,500 kg of trash over two days.
